๐ŸŒ™ Automatic ON/OFF Night Lamp Circuit Using LDR and TRIAC

Have you ever wondered how street lights automatically turn ON at night and OFF during the day?
This project explains how you can build a simple night lamp circuit that works automatically using an LDR, TRIAC (BT136), and a few passive components.

---

๐Ÿ”ฆ Introduction

An Automatic Night Lamp is an energy-saving circuit that controls a bulb based on the surrounding light.

At Night (Dark): The bulb turns ON automatically.

At Day (Bright): The bulb turns OFF automatically.

This removes the need for manual switching and ensures efficient energy usage.

---

๐Ÿ› ️ Components Required

BT136 TRIAC – Works as an AC switch.

LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) – Detects day/night light levels.

Resistors – 100kฮฉ, 470ฮฉ.

Capacitor – 0.1ยตF (104).

AC LED Bulb – 220V.

AC Supply – 220V input.

⚙️ Working Principle

1. LDR Behavior

In daylight, LDR has low resistance → TRIAC remains OFF → Bulb OFF.

In darkness, LDR has high resistance → TRIAC is triggered → Bulb ON.

2. Resistor & Capacitor Network

The 100kฮฉ resistor sets sensitivity.

The 470ฮฉ resistor + capacitor stabilize the triggering process.

3. TRIAC Switching

TRIAC BT136 controls the AC bulb.

It turns ON/OFF based on the signal from the LDR network.

⚠️ Safety Precautions

⚠️ Since this circuit works on AC 220V, you must:

Handle with extreme care.

Use proper insulation and safety enclosures.

Avoid testing with bare hands.
